This week for PE we spent time practising our jumping by playing elastics! It was really fun to try something new challenge our selves to see how high we could jump over the elastics.
Welcome to our studio blog. We are 75 Year 1 and 2 ACTIVE Halswell kids who are excited about sharing our learning. We hope you enjoy our posts and we would love you to leave a comment.

We are finding out lots of facts about different animals...
This week we chose an animal we wanted to find out more about.
First, we wrote what we already knew about the animal. Then we wrote what we wanted to find out...
We found books in the library and used Epic on the iPads to find out information and answer our questions.
We found out some interesting facts. Macca found out that a mountain lion can jump 14m. For maths we went outside and investigated how long 14m was. It's a long way!
Some children chose to see how far they could jump.

Spencer Park! - Group 1 T13/15
On a chilly and drizzly morning we set off in buses to Spencer Park to learn and explore.
When we arrived we met Chris, who helped us to learn how we can care for our beaches. We went on a treasure hunt along Spencer Beach and found out how we can help to look after our beaches and animals.
After the beach we headed into the forest for an afternoon of hut building!
