In Huritini we have:
Tī Kōuka - Cabbage Tree
Whio - Blue Duck
March is Whio Duck Awareness Month.
We looked at the DOC website and listened to the Whio Duck sound. We thought it sounded like a whistle.
We drew some pictures of a Whio duck and talked about what we learnt from the videos.
Dogs help to find the Whio ducks as they are very good at being camouflage because of their colour.
They live in clean, fast-flowing rivers.
