Koru Art

This week we learnt how to draw koru patterns.

"The koru is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace".

We had to practice on whiteboards first because it was really tricky. Some of us got frustrated but we didn't give up. We knew we just couldn't do it YET...

but with lots of practice and trying different ways, we could all draw korus.  Look at our amazing artwork.
