Spencer Park Group 2 - T14/15

We loved Spencer Beach and Forest!

We started our day, protected in the forest, building huts and playing. Lots of teamwork, creating, risktaking and strategizing took place. The pinecones were a popular commodity and were highly sort after by some teams.

We had to watch out for the dragon!

Some teams were very focused on decorating their huts.

We had so much fun we decided to have our lunch in our huts.

After lunch, we headed to the beach to meet Chris. We were really lucky that it had stopped drizzling. Chris helped us to learn how we can care for our beaches and what animals and plants we might find at the beach.

We went on a treasure hunt to see what we could find on the beach.

Then Chris explained he wanted us to sort our treasures into 2 groups; natural and manmade.

We found lots of natural materials at the beach. We talked about how we could solve the problem of all the manmade items we found. Next, we took the natural items back to the beach and created messages on the beach to remind people how to care for our beaches and be great kaitiaki(guardians)

We would like to say a big thank you to Zara, who is a super Kaitiaki! It was Zara's idea in term 1 that we should have a trip to the beach and help clean up all the rubbish.
